As communities around the country band together to support one another during the pandemic, Windermere has also stepped up to give back to our local community. Partnering with Bloodworks Northwest, Windermere is encouraging community members to give blood and potentially help save lives.
Recent heavy demand in local hospitals has drawn down the region’s vital supply of blood, making it more important than ever for those who are able to donate blood.
The Bloodworks-Windermere drive runs October 16 – 30 and offers donors free screenings for COVID-19 antibodies. Not only can donors find out if they’ve already been exposed to the virus, but because the demand for antibody-rich convalescent plasma continues to grow in the region, blood donations could also help save a life.
To donate blood at any Bloodworks center or pop-up location, please register here or call 800.398.7888. Please also make sure to use sponsor code WRE when you donate in person.
Bloodworks Northwest is taking every precaution to make the donation process as safe and simple as possible. Measures such as increased social distancing in their centers, donations by appointment and only allowing donors over the age of 16 ensure that donors will stay safe while they do their part to give back to local communities.
Please join Windermere, and give blood to give back.
