Nobu, the luxury brand co-founded by actor Robert De Niro and chef Nobu Matsuhisa, has announced it is taking up residence in Downtown Bellevue. The two condominium towers at Avenue Bellevue will be rebranded as Nobu Residences, marking the brand’s first residential opening in the United States. In 2027, the site will also welcome a 10,000-square-foot Nobu restaurant—the first in the Pacific Northwest.
The rebranding is unlikely to involve a gut renovation or major architectural changes to the towers. Instead, residents can expect upgraded common areas and hospitality improvements. As part of Nobu’s “global ecosystem,” residents can enjoy priority reservations at the company’s restaurants, discounts at Nobu properties, and other perks.
Owned by New York City-based Silverstein Properties, the $1 billion Avenue Bellevue project is a mixed-use development located just north of Bellevue Square. The two residential towers feature a combined 365 condo units, ranging from 959 to 4,725 square feet. Since listings launched in March 2025, 35% of units have been sold, with prices spanning from $795,000 to $16 million.
The property also includes 80,000 square feet of retail space and the 208-room InterContinental Bellevue. While the InterContinental offers breakfast, a hotel bar, and room service, Nobu will be the first true restaurant at the location. Previously, three restaurants, including two led by Michelin-starred chefs, pursued the property’s anchor space and each eventually backed out.
Around 20 retail spaces remain vacant, accounting for just over half of the complex’s total retail space. Current tenants include Jo Malone, Fleur Studio, Refine Beauty Salon, and design studio MR.
Nobu Residences has two other projects underway in Miami and Orlando. The brand is also developing international residential properties in the United Kingdom, Egypt, Vietnam, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and other countries.
