It’s the most wonderful time of year — and by that, of course we mean that Halloween is on the horizon. Now is the time to make the most of the thrilling (and chilling) fall season, with pumpkin patches, corn mazes and maybe even a few scares thrown in for good measure. To give you a good place to start, we’ve rounded up some local spooky local attractions, with both scary and family-friendly options for you to make the most of this spook-tacular time.

Touted as Washington’s safest haunted experience, at this drive-through haunt you don’t even have to leave your car. Located in Snohomish, Stalker Farms is offering a unique, 40-minute haunt you can experience from your vehicle. Guided by a traffic security officer, you’ll experience a terrifying story unfold before you as you drive across the farm after dark. For those who want a less intense experience, Stalker Farms (known as Stocker Farms in the daylight) also offers nighttime no-scare tickets, which include a nighttime corn maze and access to the carnival-style midway. During the day, the farm also has staples like a pumpkin patch and hayrides.

Perhaps Seattle’s most famous haunted house, the Georgetown Morgue has risen from the grave this year for a terrifying, COVID-proof experience. Allowing their talented acting troupe to rest in peace, the Georgetown Morgue has created an innovative self-guided haunted house with over 10 rooms and 35 animatronics to keep you on your toes. If their “Museum of Horrors” is too intense for you or your family, the Georgetown Morgue is also host to Seattle Escape Games, which features a variety of escape rooms (at varying levels of spookiness) so you can get just the right dose of thrills and chills.

Looking for something a little creepier? In Snohomish, Thomas Family Farm has added a new haunted hayride to their offerings, allowing for socially distant scares as guests take a meandering ride through all the terrors that haunt the farm at night. The farm also has a flashlight corn maze after dark, and has added new lighting to the pumpkin patch to allow for late night pumpkin picking. During the day, the farm has fun for all ages with its pumpkin patch and corn maze, as well as gem mining and a super slide everyone can enjoy.
