Summer Celebrations You Won’t Want to Miss

It’s summer — and that means it’s time to unwind! This season is fleeting in our rainy state, and after a year indoors there’s no time like the present to get outside and make some memories. Whether you’d enjoy a neighborhood beach party, some time on the water or a foodie experience unlike any other, we’ve got something for you.

Hosted at Marina Park from July 30 – August 1, Kirkland Summerfest is like a city-wide beach party. Featuring live music and concerts, wine tasting, a beer festival and a street market with arts and crafts, everyone can find something they’ll love during this bombastic weekend celebration. More information on tickets and the activities can be found at kirklandsummerfest.com.

This beloved annual tradition will take a different format this year, combining virtual and live events to keep everyone safe while celebrating everything to do with sea and air. In particular, Seattle Fleet Week (August 2 – 6) will offer the community a mix of live and virtual ship tours, interviews with crew members, navy band performances and a live SARS demonstration on the waterfront. The US Blue Angels will also be performing via a virtual exhibition. More information about the festival can be found here.

Tired of the usual crush of tourists when you’re exploring Pike Place Market? Why not let the market come to you? Sunset Supper at Pike Place showcases the many excellent small businesses and restaurants in the area, as guests dine al fresco in the heart of the market. To purchase tickets for the dinner on August 20, please visit their website.
