When people come together with a shared purpose, even small efforts can lead to big impact. That’s what Windermere’s Community Service Day is all about. Each year, Windermere offices press pause on business as usual and step outside to invest time and energy into the neighborhoods they serve. From preparing meals and organizing donations to painting houses and refreshing green spaces, every task is part of a larger goal — building stronger, more connected communities.
Here’s a look at what some Seattle and Eastside offices accomplished this year (listed alphabetically by office):
Windermere Ballard office: The Ballard crew walked over to the Ballard Northwest Senior Center and immediately got to work – inside and out. They cleaned and sorted the library, kitchen, and craft room, and cleared out an outdated computer room. Outside, they tackled yardwork, painted, pressure washed, and spruced up the driveway with a generous gravel donation from Salmon Bay Sand & Gravel.
Windermere Bellevue and Bellevue West offices: This year the two Bellevue-based offices teamed up at Jubilee REACH, one of their favorite CSD organizations. They organized the thrift store, packed pantry bags, organized the storage room, and helped load supplies onto the delivery truck.
Windermere Bellevue South office: The team spent the day digging in — literally — at Mamma’s Hands, where they helped clear nearly 10 acres of outdoor space. There was mowing, pruning, weeding, and even pothole-filling. By day’s end, the director said the place looked better than ever.
Windermere Eastlake and Madison Park offices: Over at St. Francis House, the Eastlake and Madison Park teams turned stacks of donated clothing into a shopping experience for people in need. They also made sandwiches and tidied up, getting the space ready for clients arriving later that day.
Windermere Issaquah & Redmond offices: It was a hot one at YMCA Camp Terry, but the Issaquah and Redmond teams powered through. They painted bathrooms, cleaned the camp office, stained decks, and expanded the archery range. The workday wrapped with a well-earned barbecue lunch.
Windermere Midtown: The combined volunteer force of the Belltown, Green Lake, Lakeview, Pike/Pine, Queen Anne and South Lake Union offices headed to the Phinney Neighborhood Association to help with everything from weeding and landscaping to cleaning and organizing. They even pitched in on promo for the center’s summer events by hanging posters around the neighborhood.
Windermere Sand Point and Wedgwood offices: At Ryther, the Sand Point and Wedgwood teams rolled up their sleeves for a full day of cleanup. There were gardens to weed, leaves to rake, and vans to wash. A few sore muscles later, the property looked cleaner, greener and ready to welcome the young people and families it serves.
Windermere Yarrow Bay office: The Yarrow Bay team returned to the YWCA Family Village in Redmond, where they helped refresh the space for local families. From painting and landscaping to sorting donations, they did a bit of everything. Their efforts left the place feeling lighter, brighter and ready for summer.
Windermere Creative office: The W Creative team spent the day at KidVantage, sorting donated children’s clothing to support local families and help kids stay comfortable during the hot summer months. It was a rewarding day full of tiny shorts and tees, colorful onesies, and plenty of teamwork.
